3 S's For Your Holistic happiness

Updated: Feb 20, 2022

Have you recently heard about Happiness? Okay, When did you hear a piece of good news recently? Good, let's assume you are happy. It's really a challenge nowadays to be happy. We want to be happy, we try to be happy, but you know what; we always search for our happiness in the outside world. And according to me, that is a huge mistake we always do.

We can not find our happiness outside in the world. Why? because our world is not our relatives, friends, or love, our world is nothing but our thoughts. And our thoughts are always with us. Therefore we have to be careful about our thinking pattern or thinking process. If you try to understand your thinking pattern we will come to know that our thoughts might be scattered or organized, and it completely depends upon the present situation.

When you start thinking deeply about your thoughts, slowly, slowly you will come to know about your likes and dislikes. And when you come to know about your perfect likes and dislikes, you will be closer to your happiness, and this time the happiness will be from within. Now this will be the first step of identifying your thought process.

Here I am sharing 3 S's which help you to understand you better.

  1. Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the ability to take an honest look at your life without attachment to it being right or wrong. It is the conscious knowledge of one's feelings. Self-awareness involves being aware of different aspects of the self including traits, behaviors, and feelings. Essentially, it is a psychological state in which one becomes the focus of attention.

Self-awareness is one of the first components of Self-actualisation to emerge. While self-awareness is something that is central to who you are, it is not something that you are acutely focused on at every moment of every day. Instead, self-awareness becomes woven into the fabric of who you are and emerges at different points depending on the situation and your personality.

6 Examples of Self-Awareness in Everyday Life

  • Identifying your emotions and what you're feeling.

  • Recognizing your primary coping mechanisms.

  • Defining your own beliefs without being influenced by others.

  • Prioritizing what gives you joy.

  • Identifying your strengths and shortcomings.

  • Knowing what you need in your relationships.

2. Self-Actualisation

Self-actualization, in psychology, is a concept regarding the process by which an individual reaches his or her full potential. Once you cross the first step i.e. self-awareness, this second step is very important. This concept is at the top of the Maslow hierarchy of needs, so not every human being reaches it. Maslow believed that in order to achieve this state of personal fulfillment, the person must first satisfy the preceding needs (i.e. physiological, safety, love/belonging, and esteem, in that order). Self-actualization is the final stage in the linear growth of an individual.

Characteristics of Self-actualised people

1. They Possess Self-Acceptance

Self-actualized people have an acceptance of who they are despite their faults and limitations, and experience to drive to be creative in all aspects of their lives.

2. They Are Realistic

Rather than being fearful of things that are different or unknown, the self-actualized individual is able to view life as it unfolds both logically and rationally.

3. The Self-Actualized Person Is Autonomous

These people tend to be very independent.

4. Self-Actualized People Are Spontaneous

These people are open and spontaneous.

3. Self-Education

the act or process of educating oneself by one's own efforts especially through reading and informal study. Self-education is one pillar of happiness. Learning is a very cool process. Self-education gives directions to your thinking process. You yourself start understanding the things which really make you happy. It is this drive to further yourself which ultimately leads to success on a personal and financial level.

Self-education is important for success because it helps you to think big like other successful people. It makes you think beyond limitations and this is the biggest reason why people succeed in life. Most people are not comfortable thinking big because they believe it is impossible to achieve.

* Importance Of Self-Education

1. It helps people become better citizens, get a better-paid job, shows the difference between good and bad.

2. Education shows us the importance of hard work and, at the same time, helps us grow and develop.

Thus, we are able to shape a better society to live in by knowing and respecting rights, laws, and regulations.

Self-Education is the Skill that will help you to stay ahead.

These three 'S' are the three pillars of Holistic Happiness.

Holistic means full or complete, happiness which is based on these pillars will be complete happiness. And this happiness will be from within.

Conclusion:

Self-awareness, Self-actualization, and Self-Education are the three main pillars of Holistic Happiness.
