* Summary:-
Stress is now common in human beings. But it's quite more in women whether she is working women or housewife. Aromatherapy is a great solution for stress relief. Stress can send your body and mind into a spiral, finished with feelings of worry and panic. For some, aromatherapy can help soothe these effects, calming the mind and, as a result, calming the body. This is a great example of the mind-body relation, as scents have a very real effect on our chemical and neurological systems and, in turn, might affect our physical state. Scents, specifically those of essential oils can trigger the release of different hormones and also affect both our central nervous system (CNS) and our autonomic nervous system (ANS).
In this blog, I reveal aromatherapy for stress relief which you can use with a little bit of knowledge about aromatherapy.
If you like the summary and takeaway of this blog, then read this blog thoroughly for your calmness, relaxation, and stress-free life.

Aromatherapy is today one of the most known alternative forms of treating physical and emotional beings. Aromatherapy is the use of several essential oils from flowers, herbs, and other aromatic plants for achieving relaxation and relief from stress. It is also believed that this therapy also works in treating several ill health conditions and disorders.
*What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy makes use of aroma or fragrance from essential oils or concentrated aromatic liquids extracted from herbs and plants, to enhance health and boost feelings of well-being. In Aromatherapy, the essential oils are applied to the body in various ways like, massage, bath, lotions, inhalation, compresses, etc. . You can use them externally only.

Each essential oil used in aromatherapy has its character and aroma, showing several properties and benefits which are unique to itself. Some of the oils enhance circulation and aid with the efficient elimination of toxins while others promote the growth of new cells and encourage the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Aromatherapy works! When essential oils are applied to the body, they enter the skin through hair follicles and sweat glands and then are soaked up into the body fluids. Here aromatherapy using essential oils not only help in killing bacteria and viruses but also stimulate the body’s immune system and thus strengthens obstruction to further attack.
A scent can be more than an enacting fascinating experience. If you’re feeling stressed out or tired, scents can help to lift your mood and help you to feel calmer and more active. And the best part of this therapy is you can do it at home. Let's see, how?
Aromatherapy is an affordable relaxation technique you can use at home in several ways:

1. Take essential oils in an infuser, which fills a room with scent.
2. Put a few drops of essential oil in about 2 cups of water. Mix the water then dip it in a washcloth. Wring out the cloth and use it to wipe your face, hands, and neck. Or store the clothes in a sealed container in the refrigerator for later use. Two or three drops of the essential oil are plenty. Experiment with one or two and see if the fragrance is strong enough.
3. Cotton washcloths work best.
4. Apply a scented cream to your skin.
5. Set out a scented stick. Carry a few in your purse or pocket to use as required.
Studies indicate that essential oils may help:
• To reduce pain
• To calm anxiety
• To promote relaxation.
Smelling certain essential oils could have an immediate calming effect on the brain. This is because the scent molecules from the oil travel through the olfactory nerves and to the brain involved with experiencing emotions.

Here is the list of the best essential oils for stress:

Apply the oil according to your need on your skin. Take 2- 3 drops of oil on cotton and apply it either on your neck or on your hand. Start with a small patch test on your skin to make sure you don't react. Stress relief oils are usually less potent and people don't have issues, but it is always good to start small. Always remember to mix the oil with a carrier oil if you want to try this.
• Use diffuser:- When using a diffuser, it’s best for the oils if you use a cool mist diffuser and start with 15-30 minutes sessions at a time.
• Use lotion:- If your skin is sensitive don't apply oil on it directly. Put 1 cup of pure coconut oil in the mixer and whip until it becomes nice and fluffy. Then mix in a couple of drops of essential oil. Take a warm water bath and then apply it to your body. As pores are open from the heat. This helps the body absorb the mixture.
• Take a bath with essential oils:- If you like baths, mix about 1/4 cup of Epsom salt or baking soda with about 3-5 drops of your favorite essential oil and sprinkle it in your bath. The Epsom salt and baking soda help the oil absorb into your skin and not sit on top of the water.
• Use on pillow case:- Use a couple of drops on the edge of the pillow or a cotton ball in the pillowcase so you can breathe it in while you sleep.
With this method, you can use essential oils to reduce stress and have a calm and peaceful life.
